Healthcare Heroes

Royal Flying Doctor Service
Australia's vast expanse of 7.69 million square kilometres hosts a population of around 25 million, with two-thirds residing in coastal regions. Rural and remote areas, often over 6 hours from the nearest town, face healthcare access challenges. The Royal Flying Doctor Service bridges this gap, providing vital medical and primary care services to remote communities, ensuring their ability to thrive across the continent.

Children's Ground
The Children’s Ground Approach spans 25 years, prioritising prevention, early intervention, and empowerment over crisis management. It values First Nations governance and knowledge systems alongside global practices. By addressing economic, social, and cultural determinants, it invests in children's futures, leveraging community expertise to drive transformative change.

Healing Foundation
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Healing Foundation traces back to the 1997 Bringing them Home Report, advocating healing for Stolen Generations survivors. Established in 2009 following national consultations, it addresses the legacy of colonisation and child removal. However, healing in Indigenous communities predates its formal inception.
Education Empowerment

SchoolAid
SchoolAid, endorsed by the Australian Primary Principals Association, aims to combat youth anxiety by promoting early volunteering. According to the Australian Institute of Family Studies, pre-adolescent volunteers show a 28% decrease in poor mental health risks. SchoolAid fosters altruism, resilience, and positive self-perception through outreach programs, instilling hope in youth.

Australian Schools Plus
Schools Plus addresses education disparities by providing funding, coaching, and resources to disadvantaged schools, aiming to empower students facing various barriers. Over $26m has been directed to support strategic school projects in the last 5 years. Programs include Smart Giving and Fair Education, emphasising STEM, mental health, family engagement, and literacy.

Teach for Australia
Teach for Australia recruits future leaders to inspire educational equity. Placing talented teachers in disadvantaged schools, it addresses early educational disparities. Nearly one-third of children from low-income households start school unprepared, widening gaps over time. By breaking this cycle, Teach for Australia aims to fulfill Australia's aspiration of equal opportunity for all.
